Designed in the 1930s by Kurt Tank of Focke Wulf. The Fw190 Strike became widely used by the Luftwaffe during World War II. The Strike enabled the Germans to acheive Air Superiority over the RAF during the early days of the war and was versitile enough to opperate in strike wings, much like a wolfpack. Along with the [[Bf109]] it made up the backbone of the German Fighter force. The Fw190 had it's limits though, such as reaching high altitudes and having poor night combat capabilities. In order to improve on the model, Focke Wulf produced the improved [[Fw190D]].

Fw190

Designed in the 1930s by Kurt Tank of Focke Wulf. The Fw190 Strike became widely used by the Luftwaffe during World War II. The Strike enabled the Germans to acheive Air Superiority over the RAF during the early days of the war and was versitile enough to opperate in strike wings, much like a wolfpack. Along with the Bf109 it made up the backbone of the German Fighter force. The Fw190 had it's limits though, such as reaching high altitudes and having poor night combat capabilities. In order to improve on the model, Focke Wulf produced the improved Fw190D.
